1) Overview
This Privacy Policy explains how SALI (“we”, “us”, “our”) collects, uses, shares, and protects your information when you use the SALI mobile application and related services (the “Service”). By using the Service, you agree to the collection and use of information in accordance with this Policy.
2) Scope
This Policy applies to information we collect through our iOS and Android apps and any related features we operate. It does not apply to third-party websites, services, or integrations that are not owned by us.
3) Information We Collect
3.1 Information you provide to us
- Email address — collected during account creation and support interactions.
- Photos you upload or capture — user content you choose to provide within the app.
3.2 Information collected automatically
- Location data — device location (precise or approximate) depending on your device settings and permissions.
- Device and diagnostics — limited technical information (e.g., device model, OS version, app version, crash logs) to operate, secure, and improve the Service.
3.3 Cookies and similar technologies
We may use cookies, mobile identifiers, and SDKs (e.g., analytics and crash reporting tools) to deliver core functionality, measure usage, and improve performance.
4) How We Use Your Information
- Account creation and management — to register, authenticate, and administer your account.
- Core app functionality — to enable features you request, such as storing and showing user-recorded information (including photos).
- Analytics, research, and development — to analyze usage trends and improve existing or develop new services and features.
- Security and integrity — to protect the Service, prevent fraud, and troubleshoot issues.
- Communications — to send you service messages (e.g., account or security notices). We will obtain consent where required for optional communications.
5) Legal Bases for Processing (EEA/UK only)
Where GDPR or UK GDPR applies, we process personal data under one or more of the following legal bases:
- Contract — to provide and operate the Service you request.
- Legitimate interests — to secure, maintain, and improve the Service (balanced against your rights).
- Consent — for certain optional features (e.g., location when not strictly necessary, or analytics where consent is required). You may withdraw consent at any time via your device/app settings.
- Legal obligations — to comply with applicable laws and requests from authorities where required.
6) How We Share Information
- Service providers (processors) — we may share information with vetted vendors that host data, provide analytics or crash reporting, and support our operations. They act on our instructions and are contractually bound to protect your data.
- Legal and safety — we may disclose information if required by law or in good-faith belief such action is necessary to protect users, our rights, or the Service.
- No sale — we do not sell or give your personal information to third parties for their own marketing.
7) International Data Transfers
We may store and process information in your region or in other countries where we or our service providers maintain facilities. Where required, we implement appropriate safeguards for cross-border transfers (e.g., standard contractual clauses, or other legally recognized mechanisms).
8) Data Retention
We retain personal data while your account is active and for a reasonable period thereafter where required for security, fraud prevention, or legal obligations. When retention is no longer necessary, we take steps to delete or anonymize the data.
9) Your Rights and Choices
- Access, correction, and portability — you may request a copy of your data and ask us to correct inaccuracies.
- Deletion — you can delete your account in-app. Deleting your account will permanently remove personal data that we are not legally required to keep.
- Consent controls — you can enable/disable permissions (e.g., location, photos) in your device settings at any time.
- Objections and restrictions (EEA/UK) — where GDPR applies, you may object to or request restriction of certain processing.
- Complaints — you may lodge a complaint with your local data protection authority if you believe our processing infringes applicable law.
10) Children’s Privacy
The Service is not directed to children. If your local law requires parental/guardian consent for minors to use apps that process personal data, you must obtain such consent before a minor uses the Service. If we learn we have collected personal information from a child contrary to law, we will delete it.
11) Security
We implement reasonable technical and organizational measures to protect personal data, including encryption in transit and appropriate at-rest protections with our cloud providers. No method of transmission or storage is fully secure; we cannot guarantee absolute security.
12) Cookies and SDKs
We may use cookies, mobile identifiers, analytics, and crash/diagnostic SDKs to provide core functionality, measure usage, and improve performance. You can control certain technologies via your device settings and in-app controls where available.
13) Changes to This Policy
We may update this Policy from time to time. We will post the updated version in the app and revise the “Last Updated” date above. For material changes, we may provide additional notice.
